1955 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible Extremely Rare.

This 1955 Cadillac Eldorado convertible is one of the rare ones of 3,950 built.

As most people know, General Motors was the creator of concept cars, which back in the 1950s which were called also Dream Cars.

In 1953, General Motors came out with their first Cadillac Eldorado which was part of the Motorama concept cars.

By 1955, the Cadillac Eldorado convertible was considered the king of the road of all American cars and had a very unique backend design that made it the longest Cadillac made in that year.

Jet planes were the speedy logo of the day and certainly the back end of the Cadillac Eldorado incorporated that styling theme.

Even the Sabre spoke wheels were a styling cue of the jet planes turbine engine.

Cadillac was well known for its 331 c.i. overhead valve V8 with its dual four barrel Rochester carburetors that produced 275 hp, an amazing number in 1955. This coupled with the 4-speed automatic Hydra-Matic made it the fastest large American car with a 0-60 speed of under 10 seconds.

The 1955 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, shown here in this ad with its original 331 c.i. engine and dual four barrel Rochester carburetors and the extremely rare Bat Wing air cleaner.

Air cleaners have been known to be sold separately for over 5,000 bucks as an item on its own.

This car has been restored with leather interior in its original pattern and of course it has the original type power steering, power brakes, power seats, power windows, etc.

My family purchased this car in 1955, owned it and loved it for 62 years and it sat indoors and was used very little and hence the low mileage that the odometer reads of 31,163 miles is believed to be original.

The chassis on restoration work was done in 2015 and certainly it is the most beautiful color that you can have on a Eldorado painted, as you can see from the pictures.

At the time of restoration, the original engine was extensively overhauled along with a rebuilt transmission.

Can only suggest you check out the pictures of this car to get the full impact of the beautiful styling by Harley Earl, General Motors chief designer and creator of the beginning of General Motors concept cars originally called Motorama cars.

This is an extremely rare opportunity to get a 1955 Cadillac Eldorado convertible that has been restored to beautiful touring condition with real leather interior and without question in the most beautiful color.
